Original Caption

"Owing to the close proximity to Checkpoint Charlie, the crossroads just ahead of Anhalter Bahnhof were hopelessly jammed. And after a while, it wasn't just full of people wanting to go over to the Western part of the city; there were also lots of people wanting to return home, back to the East. Basically, as of a certain point, the key junctions in the whole of West Berlin were totally blocked."
